This class is designed specifically for teens and is taught by nurses who were teen moms themselves. Birth partners and parents are encouraged to attend this two-part series. Participants will learn about:
- Making healthy choices during and after pregnancy
- What to expect during childbirth, including common hospital procedures and pain control options
- Cesarean Birth
- How to care for a newborn
- Best practices for staying in school and balancing motherhood with social activities.
- Community resources and where to find support
Signing up for the Thursday class registers you for the next night (Friday) as well. Both classes are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Notes: Wear something comfortable that you can move around in. Class is open to the pregnant teen and three additional support persons. Must be the same support persons for both classes.
