After 16 months of construction the finishing touches are now
complete and the long-awaited new patient tower at Summerlin Hospital
Medical Center is open.
The new tower adds an additional 173-private
patient rooms to the hospital bringing the total number of hospital
rooms to 454. "We've continued to grow in order to meet the many needs
of our service community," said Robert Freymuller, CEO/Managing
Director. "This far-reaching expansion was planned very carefully to
incorporate the specific types of medical services our community needs
and rightly expects."
The patient tower was the third and final
phase of the hospital's $100 million expansion-the largest expansion
project in its 12-year history. The project includes more labor and
delivery and recovery suites, antepartum and postpartum suites, an
expanded Level III NICU and new beds in a number of key areas including
critical care, medical/telemetry and post surgery.
